Former Director of Operations will now serve as an assistant coach on Oliver Purnell's staff.
As expected, Clemson head coach Oliver Purnell has gone within the program to hire a replacement for Shaka Smart, who left a week ago to take an assistant coaching position at Florida.
Josh Posterino, a former player for Purnell at Dayton and the current Director of Basketball Operations at Clemson, has been hired as Smart's replacement, CUTigers.com has confirmed.
An official announcement is expected later this week.
Postorino spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Marshall in Conference USA before arriving in Clemson last year to replace Will Wade, who left to take an assistant coaching position at Harvard.
Postorino was actually the first player signed by Purnell at Dayton. He lettered all four seasons (1995-99), but his playing career was cut short due to medical complications.
He played in 75 career games with the Flyers and graduated from Dayton with a marketing degree in 1999.
