Tigers Still in the Hunt for NC WR
Clemson recruiting coordinator Billy Napier spoke with the 5-10, 160 pound prospect shortly after he changed his commitment to the Tigers.
"I talked to coach Napier," Raper told CUTigers.com. "He was just telling me that he understands that I decommitted because Clemson is struggling. He told me to stick with them because they will be alright."
Not surprisingly, South Carolina didn't waste any time jumping on the former Tiger verbal commit.
"Yeah South Carolina came down to the school on Friday. They talked to me a little bit. They said they were going to come to the game, but I didn't see them there," said Raper.
What does Raper think of South Carolina?
"I don't know that much about them since I haven't been there for a visit," he said. "I can't say much. I really need to go down there and see what it is like. I will go down for a visit."
The Tigers should get another visit from the speedster in November.
"I don't have any other visits planned right now. I will probably be back at Clemson for the Duke game," said Raper.
And where do the Tigers stand right now?
"I am just still waiting to see what other teams are out there," he said. "The main school I am looking at is Florida. They haven't really talked to me since I opened things up, but they were talking to me over the summer.
"I am going to wait a bit and see how things go," he said. "I will wait until late December and then I will make my decision on where I am going."
Last week Raper had another impressive performance, but he left the game early with an injury.
"We won 30-20," he said. "I think I rushed 15 times for 89 yards. I got hurt in the forth quarter. I twisted my ankle. It is alright. I really can't run on it right now."
