Does Clemson Still have a Chance?
WR Jheranie Boyd Profile Last weekend the nation's No. 8 receiver took his second official visit of the recruiting process. "I took an official visit to Missouri last weekend," Jheranie Boyd tells CUTigers.com. "It was fun. Bryce Brown was there. We really connected personality wise. It was a fun visit. "I liked everything about it. I have some family up in that area. My grandfather, cousin and aunt live up there." The four-star receiver has already visited Oklahoma and has two other official visits planned. "I am going to take one to NC State and to Illinois. I don't think I will take any more," said Boyd. The Ashbrook (N.C.) standout is not waiting for those visits to announce his commitment. "I am going to make my announcement next Thursday at 11. We are going to have a big pep rally at school," said Boyd. Right now Oklahoma looks like the team to beat. "Oklahoma has a slight edge over everybody right now," said Boyd. How does Jheranie plan to work towards a final decision? "I am going to sit down and talk to my mom, my mentor and coach Briggs," replied Boyd. The Tigers appear to be out of the mix for now. "Coach Napier and coach Swinney haven't been calling," he said. "I haven't heard from them in a while. I told coach Briggs to talk to them." The Tigers were a long time leader and they could get back in the race once they announce their next head coach. "I have to see what goes on with Clemson and their head coach. If Clemson made the right move I might reconsider," said Boyd. Ashbrook struggled to another loss last week. "We didn't do to good this week. We had a lot of turnovers. We lost 16-7," he added.
