A fourth candidate has now been confirmed to have interviewed for the head coaching position at Clemson University.

Current Illinois offensive coordinator Mike Locksley interviewed for the position earlier this month, according to multiple sources.

Attempts to reach Locksley were unsuccessful.

Locksley, 38, is in his fourth year as Illinois' offensive coordinator, and his 17th year of coaching overall. In addition to calling plays for the Illini offense, he also coaches the Illini quarterbacks.

This season Illinois ranks first in the Big Ten in total offense and also 16th in the nation at just over 448 yards per game. The Illini also lead the Big Ten and rank 16th nationally in passing offense as well.

In 2006, Locksley led an offense that led the Big Ten and ranked 10th in the nation in rushing.

Locksley has also been critical in the Illini recruiting efforts, being named the No. 5 recruiter in the Big Ten and among the top-20 in the nation by Sports Illustrated.

Prior to his arrival at Illinois, Locksley worked for Ron Zook for two seasons at the University of Florida as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator, following six years on the University of Maryland staff.

Locksley is one of four coaches who have now been confirmed to have interviewed for the head coaching position at Clemson since Tommy Bowden resigned on Oct. 13.

Former Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin, current Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables and current Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster are the other three.

Interim head coach Dabo Swinney will also have the opportunity to interview for the position as well.
