Upstate OL waiting on the Tigers

CLEMSON - Mauldin High School's Taylor Hudson was living out one of his dreams Saturday.

OL Taylor Hudson Profile

Invited as one of the nearly two dozen recruits that visited Clemson for the Annual Orange and White game, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound rising senior loved the fact he was on the sideline and up close and personal to the action. A lifelong Tiger fan, it was a dream come true.

"It was great," Hudson said. "I have come to these games since I was little. This time you're up close to the action. It's something I have always wanted to do."

He has always wanted to be a Tiger, a move he feels he is a step closer to accomplishing. Saturday's visit was his second unofficial visit of the spring to Tigertown. He was in Clemson a few weeks ago taking a tour of the campus and watching practice.

He says the talks with his recruiting coach Andre Powell have been very good and his conversations with offensive line coach Brad Scott have been very encouraging.

"I like Coach Scott," Hudson said. "I came to a summer camp last year and I have been talking to him for a while. I really like him."

The Tigers appear to like him too. Hudson, who is also being recruited by Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest, is still waiting for his first offer, but he thinks one is coming soon. And that one might be coming from Clemson.

As for his visit on Saturday, Hudson had a blast.

"I love the atmosphere," he said. "I grew up a Clemson fan. I have come to games since I was little. This was great."

Clemson is recruiting Hudson has an offensive tackle. Besides visiting Clemson, he had taken visits to South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest. He said he has liked all of his visits, and has had a good time at each one.
