Though he'll play quarterback for Crest HS (Shelby, N.C.) this fall, schools around the country are eyeing Reggie Wilkins as a slot receiver or cornerback.

Clemson projects Wilkins as a cornerback under coach Charlie Harbison, who is serving as his primary recruiter. Having been to Clemson several times and picked up an offer earlier this spring, he's grown quite accustom to the campus.

"I'm kind of used to it. I was comfortable with the school when I was there for camp this summer," said Wilkins, who is rated by Scout.com with three stars and as the No. 83 cornerback prospect in country.

Though he's not in a hurry to make a decision on where he would like to sign, Wilkins has Clemson fourth on his list of favorites.

"It's probably in this order: NC State, Colorado, North Carolina and then Clemson," he said.

Wilkins' decision on a school will depend on several factors. The number of student-athletes that graduate, how comfortable he is with the coaches, facilities and atmosphere will weigh in equally to his decision.

As he's quarterbacking for Crest this fall, Wilkins said he plans to make an official visit but he's not sure when he'll drive down. He's worked out as a wide receiver for NC State, where they're projecting him to play as a slot back.

As a junior, Wilkins ran for almost 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns while completing 60 of 139 passes for and 914 yards and five touchdowns.

Even though he would prefer to play on Saturdays with the ball in his hands, Wilkins said he wouldn't mind playing cornerback either, just as long as he's playing.

East Carolina, Western Carolina, Louisville and Marshall have also offered.
