CLEMSON - Kyle Parker is too busy living in the present to even think about the future.
Parker facing decisions too
"Who knows what happens? We haven't sat down and talked about it yet," Swinney said. "He had an outstanding freshman year."
Before Sunday night's 21-13 Music City Bowl win, Parker had completed 197-of-355 passes for 2,385 yards with 19 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. He was 8-of-14 for 141 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 16 yards on three carries in the win over Kentucky.
"It's good to get a win and get some momentum going into the offseason," Parker said. "It's a good feeling to end our season with a win."
He'll take the next couple of days off before he picks up a baseball bat and starts preparing for his third season with the Clemson baseball team. It has been a "long time" since he last picked up a bat.
"I've got to figure some things out and hopefully get to a point where I can start the season where I want to," Parker said.
Taking time off from baseball has been the norm for him during football season.
"I've just got to start over and figure it out. I'm not going to worry about it," Parker said.
Swinney's not worried about the future either. A fan of Clemson baseball--so much, in fact, he's got five tickets to each home game as part of his contract.
"Hopefully he'll hit about 25 homeruns this year and take Clemson to the World Series. I'd love to see that," he said. "He's a football player that plays two sports.
"I think he's got a great future in football as well. I'm not so sure he's got a better future (in football). I don't know. I just coach football."
Swinney added the decision on whether Parker comes back or not is totally up to him.
"I'm just here to support him and coach whoever is out there on the football field," he said.
