CLEMSON - In the fourth edition of Andre Young’s post season diary, he talks about preparing for Friday’s first round NCAA Tournament matchup against Missouri in Buffalo, N.Y.

It would have been nice to be in the ACC Championship, but now we’re looking on to the NCAA Tournament. It’s an exciting part of the year. You can tell, because every time you turn on ESPN, they’re talking about who’s going to win what game. It’s fun to watch, knowing that we’re a part of that.

I didn’t fill out a bracket. I’m not even worried about it. If I did, I would have Clemson going all the way to the top. I think either my junior or senior in high school was the last time I filled one out. I actually did pretty well.

I’m a part of it and I don’t want to think about it. I want to think about our team and how far we can go. That should be the top focus. That’s all I’m worried about.

I have not paid attention to what people are saying about us. I could probably guess. We got put out of the first round of the ACC Tournament and people are probably thinking we aren’t going to do well in the NCAA. I don’t feel that way at all. I’m pretty excited to go up here to Buffalo and to represent Clemson, our fans, my family and the coaching staff—everybody who loves me and cares for me.

After the selection show, I just went back to my place. We had practice before it. We saw some film on Missouri the day after and today. It looks like it’s going to be a fun game.

We didn’t do much different than Missouri in practice Monday because we play so similar. We were just really emphasizing how they’re going to press all game, which is what we do. They use more presses, different variations of presses. We worked on that. That’s pretty much the only variation in practice that we did, because we played so similar.

In (Tuesday’s) practice, it’s pretty much the same. We’re just coming out here, getting some good conditioning, working on our press against their stuff and seeing what they don’t do well.

We’re just going to go out here and practice like it’s any other practice, play like we always do. It never changes. We’re going to come out, play with a lot of effort and energy to try and get a win.

We’re leaving tomorrow morning. I’m pretty sure we’ll get something to eat, have practice when we get up there. We’ll try to go up there and keep getting ready.

-Andre
