Sapp drafted by Philadelphia
In fact, he was rated the No. 5 overall outside linebacker prospect by Scout.com entering this year's draft.
"He has an elite frame, but lacks ideal bulk to disengage from the opposition to make a consistent push off the edge," notes Scout.com NFL Draft expert Chris Steuber. "He has fluid hips and changes direction with ease. He's able to track down the ball carrier from behind with his quickness.
"He's quick off the snap and causes problems for slow-footed tackles and poor technicians. He has to improve in double team situations and improve his upper-body strength."
During his senior season, Sapp had team-highs with five sacks and 15 tackles for loss. Before the start of his senior campaign, he was fourth among active ACC players in career tackles for loss (26) and fourth among active players in career sacks (11).
He is also the second former Clemson standout drafted Saturday. Jacoby Ford was taken with the No. 110 overall selection by the Oakland Raiders.
Former Clemson RB C.J. Spiller was drafted Thursday night by Buffalo with the No. 9 overall pick.
