Scott visits top WR on the board

Clemson wide receivers coach/recruiting coordinator Jeff Scott went to check in on one of top priorities in the 2011 class Monday. Charone Peake shares his favorites and the conversations he's recently had with Christian LeMay.

Jeff Scott visited Dorman High School (Roebuck) all day Monday to see the top junior wide receiver on Clemson's board. Currently in the May evaluation period, Scott wasn't the only coach on campus to see Charone Peake.

Monday was scheduled to be the first day of spring practice for Dorman, but the afternoon practice was cancelled because of the rain.

"Coaches from Alabama and UCLA were there today too," Peake told CUTigers Monday night.

"I really liked that he came in the morning and didn't leave until I left."

Last Tuesday, LSU was in and the offensive staff from Georgia stopped by on Thursday. Texas Tech is expected to be in town Tuesday.

"The coaches can't really recruit me person but it's good when they come see me," Peake said.

The most recent additions to Georgia's 2011 class, Christian LeMay announced he would recruit other prospects to join him. Peake was one of the names he specifically mentioned.

"He's been talking to me since before he committed to Georgia. He wants me to follow him wherever he goes, maybe he would follow me where I go," Peake said. "Now that he's committed there, he wants me to go there."

LeMay and Peake have been in touch with one another since last Friday, when LeMay named Georgia as his leader.

"He wants me to come join him, but he still wants me to make the right decision that's best for me," Peake said.

His favorites are still Clemson, Georgia, Florida, USC and North Carolina.

"That's no locked in top five, just some schools that I like, no order," Peake said.

This summer, he will visit Clemson and Georgia. Anywhere else is still up in the air.
