Davis back to Clemson
CUTigers has confirmed that Cortez Davis recommitted to Clemson on Sunday.
"I'm back. I've been thinking of doing it," he said.
The Mainland High School (Daytona Beach, Fla.) rising senior is now back with teammate Marlin Lane, who's been committed to Clemson for over a year now.
Davis re-committed with phone calls to the Clemson coaching staff on Sunday.
"Coach Dabo and Clemson were excited," Davis said. "I told them Clemson is where I want to be."
Davis first committed to Clemson while in town on an unofficial visit last fall for the Wake Forest game before his feelings changed in late April.
He committed to Florida State at that time before switching his mind again this weekend.
"I feel like I am going to be better at Clemson," he said.
Davis is currently rated by Scout.com as a three-star safety and the No. 29 prospect at the position in the class of 2011.
"I am 100 percent to Clemson," he said.
Davis also said he's going to take visits to Clemson, Alabama, Florida and LSU.
