Tigers will visit North Carolina guard

Bishop Daniels

The Clemson basketball staff is taking a very close look at a three-star combo guard from the state of North Carolina.

On Saturday, Word of God Academy guard Bishop Daniels was in Clemson for an appearance at the Brad Brownell Elite Basketball Camp.

Daniels caught up with CUTigers once he finished at Littlejohn Coliseum.

"It was real good. It was real stressful, but I played well, so it was good," he said.

With offers from Purdue, Charlotte and DePaul, Clemson continues to evaluate him.

"They want to see me play one more time. One of the coaches is going to come down in September to the school and see us play and work out," Daniels said.

The Tigers are appealing, too. Starting point guard Demontez Stitt is a senior and guards Tanner Smith and Andre Young are both juniors.

"I like how the guard situation is," Daniels said.

That's the top priority for Daniels as he evaluates schools of interest.

"What would be the best fit for me, if I could go in and be productive during my first year," he said.

Daniels hopes to sign a letter of intent in the November signing period.

"I would like to sign before my senior season, so hopefully I can sign then," he said.

As a junior at Word of God Academy, Daniels averaged around 13 points, five assists and two rebounds per contest.
