Biography:
2004: Second-team defensive end entering the spring of 2004; he moved up to first team on the post-spring depth chart...should play a prominent role in the defensive line because of his quickness and strength...has settled in at defensive end after switching back and forth between linebacker and defensive line...his 37.5” vertical leap ranks among the best on the team...had five tackles during the April 3 scrimmage...had two sacks and three pass breakups in the Spring Game...Coach Bowden cited him as the most improved defensive end and one of the most improved players on the team during spring practice.

2003: Played in nine games on defense, including each of the last five...had his first career sack in the Peach Bowl win over #6 Tennessee when he played a career-high 18 snaps...his key 14-yard sack of Casey Clausen put the Volunteers out of field-goal range...had 10 tackles in just 78 snaps...had two tackles in just seven snaps against #9 Georgia...played 14 snaps against #24 Virginia, as Khaleed Vaughn and J.J. Howard were out with injuries...had three tackles at Wake Forest...had a career-high four tackles in the win at South Carolina.

2002: Played in 11 games...played on defense in four games and on special teams only in seven others...played 22 snaps and had four tackles...played four snaps in the Tangerine Bowl...had two tackles in five plays against Ball State.

2001: Red-shirted.

High School: Ranked as one of the top 16 defensive ends in the nation by USAToday.com; he was considered an All-American by that service and one of the top 125 players in the nation regardless of position...ranked as the #3 player in South Carolina by SuperPrep...had 89 tackles, 15 quarterback pressures,14 sacks, and 22 tackles for loss as a senior...missed two games with an ankle injury, or he would have gone over 100 tackles...played in the North-South All-Star game...ranked as the 25th-best defensive lineman in the nation by SuperPrep...a Border Wars top-100 player in the South...a Max Emfinger All-American; he was ranked as a grade-7 player by Emfinger, his highest rating...played his high school football for Jimmy Neal at Camden High...chose Clemson over Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
